Michelle Karlsson

As the Paralegal of the Berner Law & Mediation Group, I am typically the first point of contact between the firm and our clients.  I look forward to hearing about the needs and goals of our clients, helping them learn about the services offered by our firm, and connecting them to one of our highly skilled and dedicated attorneys.  I help clients through all the administrative and logistical aspects of their case, from gathering financial and other supporting documents, drafting divorce documents, coordinating QDROs, and arranging meetings with our attorney/mediators anything that helps move their case forward.  I am also responsible for managing all the administrative and legal support functions as well as maintaining client communications at Berner Law & Mediation Group. 

I have a bachelor’s degree in education but left teaching to raise my children and obtained a paralegal certification when it was time to re-enter the workforce. I joined Berner Law & Mediation Group in 2019 after moving to New Jersey from Pennsylvania.  Before joining the firm, I worked in both litigation and family law firms.  I truly enjoy working at the Berner Law & Mediation Group which advocates for clients going through a difficult transition in their lives and preserves family relations instead of tearing them down.  I am excited to be focusing on helping our clients find the right process and professional as well as supporting our attorneys.  

I enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, spending time outdoors and papercrafts in my spare time.
